What is Hypnotherapy?
A state of gentle relaxation, in which you are aware and in control at all times. You may be surprised to know that it is a very common state which everybody automatically drifts in and out of from time to time (daydreaming). Your attention is completely captured and everyday reality fades into the background as your mind carries you away to a different state of awareness – one of relaxation, peace and calm. You are still conscious, but your consciousness is temporarily altered.

When you are being hypnotised, you are guided by the therapist into the same kind of trance state somewhere between being asleep and being awake. This is called a Hypnotic Trance. Different people can experience hypnosis in slightly different ways.

NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming)

What is NLP?
NLP was created in the 1970s by Grinder and Bandler. The creators found a connection between neurological process, language and behavioural patterns learned through experience (programmed).

These learned experiences can be reprogrammed by using visualisation, language and creating new experiences.

Chronic Pain Management

Chronic pain steals our lives away. It is often made worse by pain killers as over time they can set up a tolerance in the body and change the way that the brain neurotransmitters perceive pain. Hypnosis can heal chronic pain by getting to the route cause of that chronic pain.

Clinical Hypnotherapy has been proven as  a useful modality to assist with Chronic Pain Management.

Emerge Group Weight Loss and Lifestyle Program

The Emerge Group Weight Loss and Lifestyle Program is different. This program is conducted over 8 sessions. A one on one session with your therapist and then 7 group sessions.  An eating plan is included. This program looks at all aspects of health, personal fitness, knowledge, eating plan with recipes and portion controlled, most importantly of all identifying blocks to weight loss and dealing with those at an unconscious level.

Sit & be Fit Chair Exercise Classes

Sit and Be Fit has been taught for over  25 years,in various community venues, from Flinders Island to many places in southern Tasmania this class has enabled many people to improve their fitness and wellness with a healthy dose of FUN. The class is chair-based and chair assisted (if required). the class is conducted to music and  FUN is a key component of the class! This class is not just for older adults. Anyone can enjoy the benefits of renewed vigour, better balance and improved strength.

Hand weights, resistance bands, balls and hoops may be used during the class.
The class focuses on building strength, flexibility, increasing balance and cardiovascular fitness.

A cuppa after the class is also offered, to enable participants to engage in the social aspect of the program.

Sit and Be Fit is a community not just an exercise class.
